I'm in shock :Dizzy Just absolutely ridiculous they would award a monopoly and imo to an inferior company and product. Extremely sad day for the hockey card community and for this collector a severe reduction in collecting.

Yes, I am extremely disappointed with this decision as well. I will severely miss Titanium, Dominion, Prime and others.

I have always really, really liked Panini.

Again $ and politics ruins a good thing for those that actually make the hobby successful, THE COLLECTORS! I'll still support Panini, they can't disappear, they are to creative and good at what they do, they'll find a way! Boycott those UD idiots!!

ITG did not "disappear" and neither will Panini. I believe that the NHL and NHLPA has as much to do with this as UD does. UD could not have simply dictated the contract to them.

Although they won't disappear (should they choose to continue producing hockey cards), you cannot deny that their hands are going to be severely tied when it comes to the types of cards/sets that they can make.

ITG has some very cool products, but I know a LOT Of collectors (myself included) are turned off because they lack the team affiliation on the cards with logos and team names, etc.

If you look at Panini Baseball cards (without the MLB license) they have players posing in plain jerseys, or worse - t-shirts or Under Armour. As much as I love Baseball, and as much as I love Panini, for me these cards are uncollectable.

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I read this response from Panini, it sounds like they aren't going to produce Hockey cards anymore. Read for yourself and let me know:
