ISO Ozzie Smith

Postby tomschepker » 2012-Jan-Wed-03-01

My PM's with teaks today about baseball got me to wanting some baseball cards back in my life sooner rather than later. I'm guessing based on the activity level so far on baseball area that this is going to sit for awhile, but that's ok.

I am in search of any and all Ozzie Smith cards and will buy or trade for them, he was my hero as a kid....though you should know that I mostly have hockey to trade in return for right now.

Me with Willie McGee (left) and the wizard of oz (right) circa 1984. I would have been 7 here, and was incredibly nervous to meet Ozzie.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Guys I loved that backflip, too. More than anything though I truly believe he was the premier defensive shortstop of the modern era and I don't think we'll ever see anything quite like him ever again in professional baseball because of how the game has "evolved".

I also played baseball stars, though I definately preferred bases loaded (I was almost always Hawaii for some reason)-great games, both of them.

I too played Baseball Stars until my thumbs bled.

Another big hit with Dubs and I growing up was regular old "Major League Baseball." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNJfAVVQFIo

Little League World Series was another good one.

(all this being said... every baseball game for the NES besides Base Wars was exactly the same game)

that is so true teaks, they are all mostly the same. What's really funny is that I never noticed it until I downloaded a NES emulator for my phone and started playing these games again.

I've found about 6 different ones for you, I'll send them off to you with the McBain card.

I'll look through my cards and see what Ozzie cards I can find. I know I have some but they may not be in mint condition.
