Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides Walk

Postby Bluenoze87 » 2013-Mar-Mon-12-03

Hi everyone,
As most of you may or may not know my little guy Nash has Cystic Fibrosis, he was diagnosed at 15 days old and we have been working hard to keep him healthy ever since. Because of the great CF clinic here in Calgary he has been in great hands since first being diagnosed and is doing amazing, a normal little man.

Cystic Fibrosis has come leaps and bounds due to the funds raised from events like this. A cure has been found for one of the mutations of the disease (not the mutation Nash has) and this only means that there are more to come!

In the year since the last walk our little guy has learned to walk himself so he'll be stumbling along beside us for the walk this year. He is doing amazing, growing and becoming very very busy! He keeps me on the edge of my seat that’s for sure. My wife Karen has put together a video to provide a little more information about our story which can be viewed here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nFrVCA-joqc and she has been trying her best to keep up with her blog here http://karenaucoin.blogspot.ca/

Thank you in advance for your continued support in finding a cure for Cystic Fibrosis. If you would like to make a donation you can do so here http://my.e2rm.com/personalPage.aspx?SID=3612752&LangPref=en-CA Every little bit helps but don't feel obligated and any donation of $20 or more will generate an automatic tax receipt.

Thank you so much!

P.J., Karen and Nash

I wanted to give a shout out and a big public thank you to flyerstakedown for asking us to list his free team for his streaking bonus (2 to go) and the money for that team will be donated to CF Canada! Thank you so much!

Thank you to the great support from the 643 family in helping us surpass our goal!! We've raised over $6000 to help make the lives of those living with Cystic Fibrosis a little better which includes my son Nash so I thank you from the bottom of my heart! 2 more days until the walk, if you'd still like to donate you can follow the link above.

A little update:

We had a great day for the walk (I got a good sunburn), and it was a great success! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the 643 members that supported our CF Fundraising break and to those that personally sponsored our team, it really means a lot and directly effects my family and my little man Nash!

Our team raised $7,696 and our city raised over $180,000!!!! I still have donations trickling in so that number is still rising and again I can't put into words how thankful I am for the great support of our community and how lucky we are to live where we do with Nash having Cystic Fibrosis. There aren't many places in the world that have the type of CF Clinic that we have here in Calgary, Alberta. Although we are unlucky that Nash has CF we are very fortunate that he was born here and receives the best possible care available.

Thanks again!

Sincerely,

P.J., Karen and Nash

Here's a few pictures from the photoshoot for Cystic Fibrosis, as you can see he's a healthy and happy boy thanks to all the support, your donations really do make a difference!

He out-grew his Habs jersey, haha
