NEED HELP IDENTIFYING AUTO's!!!

Postby Hammond11ca » 2013-Aug-Tue-10-08

Hey Guys,

Picked up this stick at a garage sale, its an old Russian Hockey stick, I'm guessing late 70's early 80's or maybe just in the 80's
It has the 4 autographs on it as seen in the picture, i cannot for the life of me recognize any of these, any help would be appreciated!

I think I've got one for you?!?! Jocelyn Lemieux #23 who played with Cullen in Hartford. Not sure, the J seems difference but the rest looks the same if you look at his autos.

What makes you say it's a Russian stick? Is it red & white & blue & white with "Mockba" printed on it? If so, it might be a promotional stick from McDonalds back in the 1990s.

John Cullen wore #19 for Toronto from 1992-1994. He wore 11 & 15 with Hartford & Pittsburgh. Jocelyn Lemieux also never played with Cullen on the Whalers. If that is his signature, the J is really weird!!

The big challenge here is: This isn't a Toronto team-signed stick. #23 for T.O. back then was Todd Gill.

If the second signature is #9, that's more telling that it isn't a Hartford stick. They retired #9 (Gordie!). :) Also, during this time period for the Whalers, #8 (assuming the 4th sig is putting #8 down) was worn by Geoff Sanderson & Mark Greig.

Good luck on the hunt!!

My guess is it was signed at some sort of charity event, celebrity golf tournament?
